Eligible administering organisations include qualifying institutions in low- and middle-income countries under Wellcome’s current scheme rules. Awards have no standard fixed maximum; Wellcome notes that the average Discovery Award is around GBP 3.5 million and applies additional scrutiny to very large requests.
